CARES® Florida Nursing Home/Hospice/Adult Day Care (NH/HSP/ADC) 1-Hour and 3-Hour Training

Your employees can meet the State of Florida dementia training requirements with these special Florida versions of CARES. CARES online 1-hour and 3-hour dementia care training programs for Florida Nursing Home, Hospice, and Adult Day Care meet the mandated levels of training for nursing home, hospice, and adult day care facilities staff.

CARES® Florida Nursing Home, Hospice, Adult Day Care (NH/HSP/ADC)
1-Hour Online Training Program

*Meets the State of Florida Dementia Training Requirements (Approval Numbers 9598, 9599, and 9594, respectively)

This is a 1-hour, online, video-based training program. It features HealthCare Interactive’s trademarked CARES® Approach to person-centered care: Connect with the person, Assess their behavior, Respond appropriately, Evaluate what works, and Share with others. A customized certificate with Florida approval numbers will print out upon successful completion of the online program, which consists of training modules, a post-test, and an evaluation survey. A built-in tracking feature allows individuals to view their own training progress, and administrators can also view the status of all staff members who are doing the training.

3-Hour Online Training Program

This is a 3-hour, online, video-based training program. Continuing the concepts introduced in the 1-hour program, it features HealthCare Interactive’s trademarked CARES® Approach to person-centered care: Connect with the person, Assess their behavior, Respond appropriately, Evaluate what works, and Share with others. A customized certificate with Florida approval numbers will print out upon successful completion of the program, which consists of training modules, a post-test, and an evaluation survey. Just like the 1-hour program, a built-in tracking feature allows individuals to view their own training progress, and administrators can also view the status of all staff members who are doing the training.

CARES® Dementia Specialist™ Credential (Optional)

*Meets all State of Florida Dementia Training Requirements (Approval Numbers 8239 and 8240*)

If you or a staff member would like to earn the CARES® Dementia Specialist™ credential to be able to place "C.D.S." behind your name, purchase CARES Complete Catalog for Florida. This option allows to you meet the requirements for nursing home/hospice/adult day care 1-hour and 3-hour training while also demonstrating your knowledge in all offered areas of dementia care. By completing the six required CARES training programs, successfully passing the CARES credentialing exam, submitting your training documentation, and being approved, you will be able to use the C.D.S. credential after your name, on your resume, or on a business card. You will also be placed on our national registry.

*This credentialing program utilizes ALF Level I and ALF Level II online training programs (8 hours), which may be substituted to meet the Florida Adult Day Care (ADC), Hospice (HSP), Nursing Home (NH), or Home Health (HH) requirements.
